Going For Gold with Good Nutrition
The 2024 Paralympics are August 28 - September 8 and We're Celebrating Team USA!
The 2024 Paralympic Games are in Paris and athletes from around the world are competing for medals in individual events ranging from archery to wrestling and team events from artistic swimming to water polo.
Becoming an Olympian or Paralympian requires more than natural ability, it takes proper coaching, endless practice, perseverance, and, of course, good nutrition. A common thread that connects top notch athletes from around the globe is eating a healthy balance of foods.
We here at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service are conducting groundbreaking research to help provide athletes of all ages with the nutritional fuel that keeps their competitive engines running at peak efficiency.
All through the summer games, ARS will be sharing video clips of top American athletes discussing how nutrition and a healthy diet contribute to their high-level performances and training. Watch below interviews with Olympic athletes from sports like Fencing, Rowing, Marathon, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, and Wrestling.
